Wind Chill Warning

Winter weather warning iconA Wind Chill Warning has been issued for the Rexburg area from 9:00 p.m. tonight until 9:00 a.m. MST Thursday. Wind chill temperatures between -20 °F to -30 °F are expected. Frostbite to exposed skin can occur in minutes. Students are encouraged to stay indoors tonight. If driving is necessary, be cautious of slick, snow-packed roads.

The university class schedule will continue as normal Thursday morning.

A Wind Chill Warning will remain in effect until 10 a.m. Saturday, with projected wind chills temperatures of 30 below zero expected. Frostbite to exposed skin can occur in minutes. If traveling, keep emergency supplies in your vehicle, and proceed with caution .

With heavy snow forecasted throughout the day and very cold temperatures expected this evening, the university encourages all attending commencement to allow extra time to travel, find parking, and walk to the BYU-Idaho Center. Please be safe and courteous as you follow the traffic control officers and enjoy this memorable evening.

Security Update

July 15, 2015 – 6:56 p.m.  UPDATE:  BYU-Idaho is still working to confirm the threats made on Yik Yak this morning. In the meantime, the university will continue to operate as usual while keeping the campus community informed. Also, BYU-Idaho’s security team has been joined on campus by the Rexburg Police Department to provide additional resources. We are working closely with them to monitor the situation. Students and employees should continue to be vigilant and report anything unusual to 911.
