Important Community Information and COVID-19

Community leaders have asked BYU-Idaho students and employees abide by the following key items and updates:

Additional COVID-19 Cases Identified in Madison County
Eastern Idaho Public Health is reporting additional cases of COVID-19 in Madison County. Some of these are the result of community transmission, which may be the result of casual contact and gathering with others. To prevent further transmission throughout the Rexburg area, students and employees are asked to follow Governor Little’s stay-at-home order and avoid leaving their residence except for essential services and activities. Whether you have symptoms of any illness or not, please stay home as requested.

Parks and City Hall Closures in Rexburg
Out of caution and care for local citizens, the Rexburg Mayor and City Council have restricted access to public facilities in all city parks. This includes all play equipment and group activities such as sports. Park use should be limited to walking or jogging. Students and employees are asked to follow Federal guidelines for gatherings. In addition, access to City Hall is suspended. City staff can be reached at 208-359-3020, Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. For information on the local COVID-19 response, please visit the Eastern Idaho Public Health website or the City of Rexburg’s website.
